\nThis lament for our world celebrates the continuing presence of the spirit despite war and despair.
\nSome excerpts:
\nNow the Dove flies
\nSails the war torn skies
\nFeels the wind rip
\nThrough her wings
\nTossed and turned now
\nCries of war howl
\nTearing through her
\nAnd still she sings…<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They say that \u201csin\u201d means \u201cto miss the mark.\u201d
\nI have so many times aimed in the dark.
\nWe fail in little ways, betray our friends.
\nIt wasn\u2019t planned that way.
\nDistraction leads to evil ends.
\nThe shadow fear clouds our attention.
\nMind falls astray into dissension
\nIgnorance can twist the dart
\nAnd then it falls far from the mark…<\/p>\n

We see glory magnified.
\nShout our praises to the skies,
\nBuild our monuments to our wars
\nForgetting the needs of weak and poor…<\/p>\n

And still the dove flies
\nWhile the earth cries
\nPolluted with more debris of war
\nChildren sick now,
\nSoldiers cry foul!
\nDove is weeping
\nAnd yet she hums.
\nHums to children who die
\nDespite mothers\u2019 deep cries
\nSings to young who march to war,
\nDespite fathers outraged roars,
\nWings over famine and drought,
\nPolluted water, polluted ground.
\nFolds us under her downy breast,
\nWarms us in her gentle nest\u2026<\/p>\n
